Minecraft is a major hit among both passive and active gamers all over the world. It simply extends and tests every bit of imagination in you; all within in-game scenarios. With them, you become limitless. Whatever you think of can be built with blocks. It does not matter if you are constructing empires, cities, dens, etc. What you can think of becomes a reality with Minecraft. Quite predictably, as is the nature of gamers, sometimes even too much is never enough. So gamers decided to make different mods to supplement the Minecraft world even more and put additional facilities on the general gameplay.
There are a myriad of mods available currently and anyone can access and use them. Then there is the installation part. The method you use to install Minecraft mods depends on the version you choose for your Minecraft game. . When it is time to install Minecraft Mods, users should not have a reason to fear; be it from a technical aspect or the amount of work involved. The only challenging thing as far as installation is concerned is that every Minecraft mod has its own method of installation; bar the standardized foundational aspects. Majority of Minecraft modes can be installed using two common methods. These methods do not need any specialized focus or anything; anyone can easily maneuver around with them. The only important thing to remember is to save or backup your worlds before you install Minecraft mods. If things go astray for some reason or another you can still revert to a functional backup saved on your hard drive.
Let us take a look at the simpler method first. It entails using the Minecraft Forge software. It does not alter the game in its core entirety; you get to install various Minecraft mods. To install Minecraft Forge on your PC:
i) Go to the official site of Minecraft Forge.
ii) Download the precise version of Minecraft Forge synonymous with your Minecraft.
iii) Opt for the recommended Minecraft Forge version to be safe.
iv) Look for the full downloaded file and then install the client on your PC.
To check for successful installation, deploy Minecraft and take a look at the profiles in the drop-down menu. If you see a new Forge profile it means the Forge was installed successfully on your machine.
For installation of mods on the Minecraft game by Forge, you can download several modes that are well-suited for that particular Forge software. They are available even on Google; but make a point of reading the mod designer’s site to have more information about compatibility. After the mod download you can find the downloaded file (compressed in ZIP format) and Copy/Paste it into Mods folder found in the Minecraft folder made by Forge.
There; you can now launch Minecraft and all the installed mods will be found under the Mods menu section. You can pick whichever mod you prefer and begin playing. This is a simple method used to install Minecraft Mods.

The technicality stems from the “directness” used during installation. Here, there is a high chance of ruining saved worlds. As always, it is a good idea to backup all files before attempting any mod adjustments on your system.
Below are the steps of installing mods directly:
i) Identify the Minecraft directory where all vital files are saved. Usually, the directory is at C:\Users\username\Appdata\Roaming\.minecraft. Once you find it, look for the minecraft.jar archive. It is the one that needs to be modified so that mods can be run.
ii) Next, download the required mod to be installed in Minecraft. Archive software is very vital, so ensure that it is well-installed on your machine. It will come in handy during the process.
iii) From the archive minecraft.jar, extract all the files contained inside. Now the mod can be installed.
iv) The Meta-Inf folder has to be destroyed before the Minecraft is deployed. It is usually found in the directory that houses the Minecraft as well. It has to be permanently deleted so as to run any mods.
v) Launch your Minecraft. Seamless deployment means the mod was installed correctly.
